Devoted Care Services (DCS) is a for-profit non-emergency medical transportation company proudly serving the local and long-distance transportation needs throughout Henrico County and the Greater Richmond Region.
Founded by a motivated entrepreneur, Keon Lathon, inspiration for creating DCS came as Keon served as the primary caretaker for his 96 year-old great-grandmother. In working to arrange medical appointments and associated transportation, Keon witnessed firsthand the delays and less than professional service to transport his great-grandmother. In performing research and due-diligence, Keon realized his great-grandmother was far from alone. With the rapid growth of the elderly population in Virginia, projected to comprise 25 percent of the state’s population by 2030, seniors throughout the state are challenged to find reliable, timely, and cost-effective assisted transportation. Needless to say, it wasn’t difficult to determine the opportunity and sustainability in launching Devoted Care Services.
In leveraging years of professional training and experience as a District Sales Manager for Frito Lay, managing employees and working to develop strategic relationships with area staff, patients, and families has proven to be a strength for Keon and DCS. Rather than focusing exclusively on volume and profits, DCS is keenly focused on providing exceptional and timely customer service with the compassion you and your loved ones deserve.
Unlike other services operating as a curb-to-curb service, DCS is committed to safely escorting patients and residents from their residence or facility to a clean, comfortable, and modern wheelchair accessible vehicle. On arrival at their appointment, trained staff will escort clients to check-in.

We are continuously striving to implement effective strategies for enhanced training, integrated technologies, and managerial support and communication. Because we provide local and long-distance transportation, effective planning and communication between dispatch and key facilities is paramount.
We continuously work on enhancing our scheduling and traffic management in an effort to reduce travel and wait times while increasing efficiency. We work to adapt and implement policies and procedures to support our mission, to analyze and advise on transportation issues, evaluate scheduling conflicts, negotiate and correspond with carriers, vendors, and strategic partners.
Dispatchers will receive extensive instruction on using our technological integration systems designed to support our growing scheduling and logistical demands. Dispatchers are responsible for the following:
- Customer intake
- Preparation of daily schedules and trip manifests
- Effective driver management and scheduling
- Trip management and oversight
- Coordination with facility personnel
